Light's On Afterschool
Join thousands of communities in celebrating and rallying for afterschool programs as the Afterschool Alliance organizes the 26th annual Lights On Afterschool! This nationwide event, taking place in October 23, calls attention to the importance of afterschool programs and the resources required to keep the lights on and the doors open, especially as programs step up to help students, families, and communities in the pandemic. The YMCA of Southern WV is proud to be a Lights On Afterschool partner.
Too many children—25 million—are missing out on afterschool opportunities. Participate in Lights On Afterschool and help call attention to this important issue.
Light's On Afterschool Showcase
🎉 Come Celebrate Lights On Afterschool with Us!
Join us for a fun-filled evening as we celebrate our amazing youth programs — School Day Out, Summer Day Camp, and Afterschool! See what makes them so special through an evening of dancing, swimming (don’t forget your swimsuit!), and exciting hands-on STEM activities for kids ages 4–12. The entire family is welcome! Visit each of our stations to collect the stickers on your BINGO card. Once the card is full, you will gain a ticket for 30 minutes of pool time.
As Beckley’s longest-standing Afterschool Program, we’re proud to showcase how we support local families every day.
